Q:

“We are renovating our outdated kitchen and we wanted to make the kitchen splashback a feature, while also being practical. Is there anything you can recommend for us?”

A:

It’s fair to say that you will invest a significant amount of time and money into your kitchen renovation.
With the splashback being one of the last things to go in, it’s important that it provides functionality with a bit of ‘wow’.
Choosing a splashback can be challenging, as there are a vast array of products in the market.
Glass has always been a popular choice for a stunning surface, that doesn’t stain and is easy to keep clean. Homeowners can choose from a wide range of colours. This allows you to create a personal statement or select a colour that tones in with the cabinets for a seamless look with no problematic grout lines.
Today’s kitchen design trends celebrate a layering of natural materials and finishes. An exciting solution to this trend is the new Ava large format porcelain tile sheets. The sheet sizes are 3200mm x 1600mm and the largest on the market. As a splashback solution, this means that you can have the texture and look of a tile, but without the grout.
Ava’s unique architectural finish is indistinguishable from top end natural stones, marble or quartz. As it’s porcelain, it exhibits the same technical characteristics of porcelain stoneware, such as zero absorbency, resistance to chemicals, scratches and heat.
Stunning good looks without the fuss – this product could be a real contender in your goal to have a kitchen splashback that is both stunning and practical.
