I grew up in Takapuna, Auckland and then in Cambridge, a town in the Waipa District, before finishing high school back in Auckland. During this time, I played various sports, especially rugby. Following my passion for rugby, I had the chance to play for the under 17 Takapuna boys rugby team as well as the NZ Navy men's team. I was also selected to travel to the United States with St Peter's Open Boys competition.
After finishing high school, I had the opportunity to play rugby in Toronto, Canada for six months with a club called Toronto Scottish. This was a rewarding experience, which helped me learn more skills and pick up some invaluable lessons.
I enjoyed living in Toronto, playing a sport I love, so it was an easy decision to move back, playing again for Toronto Scottish in the No. 13 jersey.
Living in Toronto for the next four years was challenging, and I supported myself by doing construction and demolition work.
In early 2019, I decided to return home to New Zealand. As luck would have it, my cousin Thomas Logan worked for Jim Gleeson at KKG Limited (trading as Refresh Renovations in Auckland Central) as an Apprentice Builder.
After making some introductions, I started working for KKG Limited in March 2019 in the Construction Team.
I am really excited to be working in the building trade, and learning more building skills, which I hope will give me more skills to eventually build my own home one day.
In my spare time, I like spending time with family and friends, playing sports and going to concerts.
