Jim joined the Refresh team in 2017 and comes from a background in sales, joinery by trade and production management. Prior to joining Refresh Jim spent many years working for a company that manufacturers premium commercial doors including fire, security, acoustic egress systems, as well as working with premium fire, security and ballistics windows.
His roles there were diverse and ranged from Sales Representative to Logistics Supervisor. Jim spent two years living and working in Cape Town, South Africa. Whilst there he worked for a commercial office furniture and door manufacturer initially employed as a Customer Service Representative but was soon promoted to Factory Manager.
Jim believes that his time in Cape Town has allowed him to become a more compassionate person. Jim is married to Shayne and has two adult children Samantha and Connor. He has always been involved in sport, representing New Zealand in Athletics in his younger years and now deeply involved with rugby throughout Wellington. Being a part of the community is one of Jim’s greatest passions.
He is Chairman of the Wainuiomata Football Club and also sits on the Wainuiomata Sportsville Committee. When he has down time he enjoys reading and has been an avid collector of non-fiction and fiction books. He also makes a lot of his own indoor and outdoor furniture and has a vast knowledge of most joinery tools and machinery tools. He also works with copper, steel and aluminium that he incorporates within his pieces.
In his role with Refresh, Jim is responsible for managing resources and keeping projects on track utilising his people skills to ensure our clients receive the best possible service. He splits his time between the office, visiting clients and is not afraid to jump on the tools when needed.
