At 25-years-old, this Brighton bathroom had done its time. The bathroom’s existing tiles were broken, the grout cracked, and mould and dampness issues were beginning to become problematic. Ready for a new bathroom, the homeowner decided to meet with Refresh Renovations Specialists Roger and Tracy Kinsman to see if they were the right fit for the project.
In an initial consultation, the homeowner discussed his bathroom makeover ideas with Tracy and Roger. He wanted to completely refurbish the bathroom by replacing the existing bathtub with a shower - ideally resulting in a wet room style bathroom that worked within his budget.

Modern bathroom design
With these ideas in mind; Tracy, Roger and their team began designing a new bathroom. They then worked with local suppliers and trusted contractors to put together a cost estimate of £6,500. Following an inspection of the home and a discussion with the homeowner, it was decided that the home’s old-style electrical board needed replacing. The client also decided that they wanted to add a few additional finishings to the design. These additions brought the cost up to £7,800.
With the design and costs approved, Roger and Tracy scheduled in more than nine different contractors to carry out the renovation. They also worked with Easy Bathrooms and Victoria Plum on the supply and delivery of the bathroom’s new materials.

Bathroom renovation
Firstly, Roger and Tracy worked with the homeowner and an electrician to bring the home’s circuit board up to current standards. From there, the bathroom update began. The original bathroom was stripped back, replastered and an extractor fan was installed. Roger and Tracy’s team began retiling the bathroom using modern and low-maintenance porcelain tiles. A spacious new shower cubical was then installed along with the bathroom’s new sanitaryware, fixtures and fittings.
“We completed the build within the estimated timeline”, tells Tracy. “The final result is an airy, bright, modern and clean bathroom with more floor space. The client loves his choice of tiles and shower unit and how easy it is for him to keep it clean and looking new. We like the unfussy style and the understated colour scheme with the polished chrome accents.”
In a final review, the homeowner says he is highly impressed with his Refresh Renovations experience.
“What a service! They are so professional, clean and tidy. Would I recommend them and use them again? Yes, with no questions. This was a first-class renovation of my bathroom.”
