Once construction began in October 2025, the team discovered the roof also needed full replacement - a significant and unexpected addition that required new council consents and timeline adjustments. Despite this, the Refresh team coordinated all trades, approvals, and supplier relationships smoothly, keeping the clients informed and confident at every stage. A colour consultant played a key role in the design process, introducing the concept of colour drenching and helping the homeowners embrace bold, personalised finishes. The result is a master suite where the bedroom feels calm and serene, while the ensuite delivers a dramatic day spa atmosphere - distinct in character but cohesive as a whole.

A 1990s Kitchen Reimagined: Modern, Bright & Built for Family Life

Kimiora's 1990s Awapuni kitchen was overdue for a refresh. Short on storage, heavy on brown tones, and lacking any real character, it no longer suited her busy family's needs. She engaged Refresh Renovations' Wayne Gordon and his team, who walked her through their structured five-step process from the very first consultation. Renovation Consultant Richard Marshall and Project Manager Zoe Blease guided Kimiora through design and scoping, working with Blacktan Design to develop a concept that was stylish without overstretching the budget. To stay within her target spend, Kimiora took on the painting herself — and the final project cost came in exactly as quoted. In just four and a half weeks, the old U-shaped kitchen was replaced with a modern galley layout featuring custom-made cabinetry, a composite stone waterfall island doubling as a breakfast bar, deep square sinks, stainless steel appliances, and generous bench and storage space throughout. No delays, no surprises.

Designed for Independence: A Modern Accessible Bathroom in Feilding

When a Feilding homeowner needed her small bathroom made safer and more accessible to support independent living, Refresh Renovations' Andrea Yeatman and Project Manager Zoe Blease took on the challenge of making every centimetre count. With just 4sqm to work with, the team removed the bath, vanity, and storage cupboard to open up the space entirely. In their place came an easy-access shower with a contemporary glass wall, oversized grey tiles, inset shelving, and a handrail for safety. A floating vanity with a benchtop basin and deep-set drawers replaced the lost storage, while black fittings, a heated towel rail, and patterned floor tiles gave the space a genuinely modern finish. Importantly, the project was managed with the homeowner's out-of-town family kept fully in the loop throughout, giving everyone involved confidence that the outcome was being handled with care and professionalism.
