Rachel understands that a client’s decision to renovate their house is on any level an extremely important one and requires proper process management, right from the initial stages where the renovation may still only be an idea or design concept, through the build stage, to the completion and handover of the project.
Rachel’s role as project administrator starts right from the beginning of the Refresh process. Working closely with the renovation consultant, Rachel liaises with designers and clients, and coordinates with all parties involved, from submitting council consents and helping with selections and finishes, to working closely with the project delivery team to make our clients’ dream renovations possible.
With more than 16 years’ experience in the fashion and customer service industry, Rachel has worked in some of the best hair salons in New Zealand. It was during this time that Rachel learnt the importance of building customer relationships, of managing client expectations within a timeframe and budget, and of clear and concise communication ensuring the client voice is always heard. She effectively engages with a wide range of people at all levels.
Rachel thoroughly enjoys building strong relationships with the customers and the teams she works with to deliver a smooth and hassle-free renovation process. Monitoring project plans and progress is one of Rachel’s key responsibilities, which is well suited to her highly organised and efficient personality. She is detailed oriented and good at multitasking. Although her role doesn’t look the same day in and day out, Rachel says it’s fascinating to be privy to how many different tasks and processes must come together to create a successful renovation.
Originally from Auckland’s North Shore, Rachel moved to Wellington in 2008 after meeting her husband and traveling together. They have since had two children and have two dogs to keep life busy and entertaining.
After having her children, Rachel wanted a change in career that would offer new challenges and a better work life balance for the family. When the opportunity arose to become a project administrator at Refresh, Rachel accepted the challenge. Commencing with Refresh Renovations at the outset of the franchise has meant that Rachel has a vast knowledge of the overall business and is an integral part of the success of the company.
