Presenting the 2023 Auckland Home Show Competition Winner

The Auckland Home Show, held at the historic Auckland Showgrounds in Greenlane, Auckland, faced postponements due to Covid between 2020 and 2022. To compensate for the delays, two shows were organised in 2023. The first one was held in April and welcomed around 34,000 visitors, and the second one in September saw 36,723 attendees.

Franchisees from Refresh Renovations in Auckland Central, North Shore, West Auckland, and Manukau/East Auckland teamed up for both shows. Positioned conveniently near the 'Design, Renovate, Decorate' Seminar, Refresh offered presentations three times a day. 

They organised a Home Renovation Package competition that spanned across both events. Valued at $10,000, it was generously sponsored by Refresh Renovation's Franchisees, Robertson Bathware, The Tile Depot, and Blacktan Design. After the September show, the lucky winner from over 1,000 entries was announced - Susan Hulsdouw from Titirangi.

To mark the event, a presentation of the prize was held at Refresh Renovations Auckland offices in October 2023. Susan and husband Jo attended, along with representatives of some of the sponsors including Del Gleeson (Representative for the Participating Franchisees), Morag Burns, Renovation Consultant (on behalf of Dominic Holland, West Auckland Franchisee) who will be looking after Susan throughout their renovation, Tobias Siketi for Robertson Bathware and Toni Duncan for The Tile Depot. The home has been in Susan's family for over 70 years, and completing a lot of the renovations over the years themselves, Susan is looking forward to finishing the bathroom and getting rid of the original, dated, yellow flowered wallpaper. At the time of the presentation, Morag and Fiona Fairbairn (West Auckland Franchisee) had already visited Susan in her home for an initial consultation and to complete a Matterport scan, which would be useful for when Blacktan Design complete the Concept Designs. Arrangements have also been made for Susan to visit the showrooms of Robertsons Bathware and The Tile Depot. A "Before and After" Case Study will be completed at the end of the project. Susan and Jo were ecstatic recipients of the 2023 Auckland Home Show, Home Renovation Package.
