Unfortunately our renovations were severely hampered by Covid 19. However, the efforts of Leigh McDonald to ensure we were delivered an outstanding renovation, despite all the problems, were absolutely superb.

We had been considering renovating our home for a number of years but had always been reticent to start, given the inevitable complexities of the process and the potential pitfalls of project managing something so significant ourselves. Our decision to engage Saleem and his team was the best choice we could have made. From the first design meeting - through planning, costings, consenting and then the actual build process - the communications, level of engagement and renovations were exemplary. Saleem and the team always had pragmatic and high-quality solutions to any complexities that arose and dealt with our ‘bright ideas’ with aplomb. The completed renovation was everything we could have hoped for with the final costings and timings also consistent with the estimates provided once the design was finalised. We haven’t hesitated to recommend Saleem wherever we can and will definitely use them again if and when we decide to undertake another renovation.

We worked with Saleem and his team on the renovation of our kitchen, laundry and hallway, two bathrooms and lounge. It required design work, stripping everything out and upgrading all areas. Our experience was extremely good and we would have no hesitation in recommending Saleem. The communication was very good, both in person and via emails and so forth. We found the online system really good. The quality of the work is very high. The site was kept clean and tidy throughout, and checks on quality were regularly undertaken as the works progressed. We completed on time, even with Covid 19 being a consideration. There were no delays and they were actually able to install the kitchen earlier than planned. We would definitely work with Saleem and the team again in the future. And it was fun!

Finally deciding to proceed with a major renovation of my 1886 cottage was an extremely big deal for me, especially given the current building and renovation climate and the horror stories you would commonly hear. It’s fair to say I procrastinated a lot before finally committing and I appreciated Mike and Sophia’s patience at that time. And I’m so pleased I did commit and proceed! Not only was my renovation experience excellent, the outcome exceeded my expectation and I absolutely love my beautiful home! I did not have any of the issues I was worried about. The team of tradespeople that Refresh chose to work with were all great. There were no hold-ups due to product issues and, apart from a couple of variations that seemed sensible along the way, we stayed within budget. There was only one hiccup involving the colour of the benchtops which was an error on the part of the supplier, not Refresh, and this was resolved quickly and without question. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mike and Sophia. Their advice was sound throughout the process and although I had a pretty clear idea of what I wanted to achieve, they contributed many helpful ideas along the way. In terms of managing the project once the build got underway, exceptional! Everything went extremely smoothly and if not for the bench issue the job would have been completed well under the projected time. As it was, it still came in on time. I know I could not have taken on such a big renovation without their expertise and professionalism for which I remain very grateful.

Positive: Professionalism, Responsiveness, Value For some years we had thought about renovating the large double garage at the rear of our family home in to an apartment. We googled and contacted a couple of builders and also Refresh Renovations. Scott Randell came out with a builder and looked at what we wanted to achieve. The process was set in motion. We liked the concept of having someone - Narelle Randell to manage the project. A concept design was created and presented to us by the architect Narelle chose. The pool filter had to be moved out of the existing garage and a small old bathroom in the corner demolished. The space was gutted. Covid and lockdowns delayed things but basically it took 8 months. Narelle was patient when we thought of things along the way. She introduced us to an Interior Designer who assisted in process of colour and fitting choices. We do not hesitate to recommend Narelle Randell and Refresh Renovations to manage a renovation process for you. PS Since the renovation was completed Narelle & Refresh Renovations have gone above and beyond with sorting some little things that have cropped up - especially with the huge Sydney rains. We were extremely pleased with the job that Asif and the RR team did with our bathroom and neighbouring bedroom, which addressed issues we had spent several stressful years dealing with (following a thoroughly miserable time with a botched bathroom installation). While the project took a bit longer and cost a bit more than we expected, in the end it was worthwhile for the peace of mind of knowing the job was being done thoroughly, carefully and professionally. Michael explained his process which initially seemed a bit over the top, when compared to other quotes we sought - we learned to appreciate how much value his feasibility study can provide versus others who literally hand wave and with experience will give a quote. Thanks to his consult, we realised we would probably be better served if we waited for a bit more money to come in before engaging his services. Refresh Renovations Surrey did an amazing job fitting the bathroom pieces I had selected and making my vision come to life. We had had some issues with another bathroom which had been fitted by other builders, so I came to Refresh with some very detailed requests. Kelley and her team fulfilled all the requirements and made having people working in the house almost unnoticeable! Revamping this tucked away bathroom in a very old house posed plenty of problems, but there was nothing that had not been foreseen nor anything that caused any issues- a first with all the tradespeople we have been able to work with! The finish has been excellent and, even with COVID-19 restrictions and delays which were out of their hands, they managed to get the project done in a timely and respectful manner. We owned a classic Auckland villa in Onehunga which required the usual renovation requirements of an aging villa. These included full house re-piling, exterior and window rot repair and paint (including new timber joinery), roof repair and paint, interior painting and tiling, and some plumbing work. Dominic at Refresh initially led us through the design and council consenting process for the re-piling work. Following this, Dominic and his team undertook all the renovation works mentioned above, dealing with all the subcontractors without us having to get involved. Renovations can be stressful (especially through COVID), and there were issues which popped up, however these were communicated and resolved satisfactorily. Dominic took care of all the council documentation, inspections as well as the final CCC. Overall we are really pleased with the results and glad we engaged Dominic at Refresh to help us through the process. We would definitely recommend Dominic and his team.

Having already engaged with an architect and submitted our planning application we contacted Asif Hameed at RR to find out their innovative process could help. He explained the five stages and we committed to Stage 1 which provided a detailed Budget Estimate of the whole project. Michael and his team just finished an amazing bathroom/laundry upgrade for me. I have two sinks in my guest bathroom/laundry room and asked for them to convert one sink to a shower, which they executed in time and within my budget. This is the second time we have engaged Refresh Renovations - South East and Leigh McDonald to transform our home. On this occasion we enlisted Refresh to make over our main bathroom after our stunning kitchen renovation earlier in the year. Leigh was able to make our vision a reality and assisted us in making a functional, practical and aesthetically beautiful space that is filled with natural light and modern fixtures. The trades used were very professional and highly skilled, lead by Richard Naudi. The workmanship is top quality and the whole process was stress free . Communication was excellent and consultation on the build was exceptional. All the trades were very respectful of our space and keeping the area safe and clean. We are delighted with the end product and look forward to using Refresh South East again for project number 3.

The only reason why I didn’t use their business is because I’ve learned that some single-trade renovation projects are best handled on your own but they would add more value to projects with multiple trades.

Very happy with our service from Refresh who went above and beyond to keep us happy and we’re a delight to work by with.

Refresh provided us with a very good project manager and a range of tradies to complete our project. As with most building projects, there were delays and technical issues. However, at the end the result was what we asked for with a high-quality finish.

Jenelle Winstanley was the lead on our project and she very much gave us 110%.
She communicated well, was in touch with regular updates and kept things rolling and on track.
She was really approachable and friendly and always willing to be available whenever we needed her. Going the extra mile appears to be her default setting.

We had an excellent experience using Refresh Renovations East and South East. We conducted a major renovation, with rooms remodelled, extensions, a new roof, windows, doors and multi outdoor entertainment areas, and we couldn’t be happier with the end result. From the initial consultation and design discussions right through to completion of the renovation, Leigh provided friendly, informative and very responsive customer service. We were always kept updated on future activities and any decisions that were required to made to ensure everything progressed efficiently. Even with the COVID restrictions Leigh managed to limit the impact on the overall timetable and importantly we had no surprises along the way. The project finished slightly over time due to COVID and the numerous additional changes that we requested, but were still on budget and we couldn’t be more pleased with the fantastic end result. Marcus and Keith from Refresh Renovations transformed our outdoor shed into a modern and stylish mancave/studio apartment. We love the end result and are very impressed with the work that has been carried out. There was a slight hiccup with Covid lockdown but Marcus still managed to get it to a liveable standard before completing the project. We cannot recommend Refresh Renovations highly enough.

A big thank you to Matt and his team of local professional tradesman. We now have 2 new bathrooms, toilet and kitchen floor. I still don't believe it's our ensuite when I walk into the room, beautifully updated. Matt was wonderful to work with and having him as our project manager was brilliant. We couldn't have done this without him, combining our ideas with his own and having his advice and knowledge helped us through this renovation. Every build has its challenges, especially in an older home, but Matt sorted any problems quickly and took the stress out of the situation for us. This renovation project started off as a “new carpet, new paint” quick renovation of a 1 bedroom apartment but evolved over several discussions with David into something more complete. It was slightly complicated by the fact my brother (the owner) lives in Hong Kong, I was in Auckland and David was in Queenstown. After meeting David via 3 way video conference, he was fantastic in getting to grips with exactly what was required and organising the different parts in play. During the renovation, David kept us fully informed both by email and through the BuilderTrend webpage. We had a couple of issues that crept up during the renovation and David was eager to provide us with solutions which was most helpful. He was also helpful in resolving additional items that we didn’t realise were needed such as new curtains and replacing a blind in the bedroom. We are very happy with how the apartment has turned out and would have no hesitation in recommending David with your renovation project in the Queenstown region.

I used Refresh Renovations to make an internal access to my attached garage by knocking out part of a wall and installing a door. The wall was concrete block construction , so a bit of work there. Nadeene was a great consultant and Jason made a very good finished product. I would recommend Refresh to others.

It took us more than 2 years until we found a quality, competent and reliable renovation company to trust – Refresh Renovations.
